Photo by Donnell Suggs/The Atlanta Voice As expected, there have been several power outages throughout the state, some coming as early as 8 a.m. on Sunday, January 25. Some of Georgia’s largest counties, DeKalb and Fulton, for example, have reported more than 1,400 and 2,500 power outages, respectively. In Clayton County, a light rain fell, but there was no sign of icy roads or snow. The power outages have been minimal as of Sunday morning. On Highway 19/41, one of the most traveled intrastate highways in the state, the roads were clear that morning. There were a reported 500 power outages in Clayton County. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has asked residents to stay off the roads. United States President Donald Trump has authorized FEMA to coordinate statewide disaster relief efforts in Georgia.
