Next, the defending champion No. 3 Philadelphia Eagles (11-6) will put their repeat bid on the line against the No. 6 San Francisco 49ers (12-5). The Birds are looking to become just the 10th team to win back-to-back Super Bowls. The 49ers failed to capture the No. 1 seed in Week 18 and now must win three road games to reach the Super Bowl being played at their home stadium. The three-game slate concludes with the first playoff game at Gillette Stadium since the 2019 season as the No. 2 New England Patriots (14-3) host the No. 7 Los Angeles Chargers (11-6) on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. MVP candidate Drake Maye and the Pats tied for the NFL high in wins and now look to record the franchise’s first playoff victory since the 2018 championship season. Quarterback Justin Herbert is seeking his first career postseason victory in his third appearance, and the Chargers’ first since 2018. Herbert threw four interceptions in a blowout loss to the Houston Texans last postseason.
