Hoosiers welcome the new year in all kinds of ways
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Hoosiers rang in the new year with unique celebrations for people of all ages, from daytime countdowns for kids to late-night parties for adults. At the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, families didn’t wait until mid
night. Kids counted down to noon on Wednesday at a party complete with music, confetti, crafts, and a kid-friendly celebration marking the start of the year.
In Arcadia, Indiana, families celebrated with yaks at Woolly Yak Ranch and Winery’s “Noon Year’s Eve” party featuring a balloon drop, photo ops, and party hat decorating.
Families at the Indiana State Museum took part in the museum’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration with activities, exhibits, and an 8 p.m. countdown designed for younger kids.
Riley Hospital for Children rang in the new year as child life specialists put together the hospital’s annual Riley Red Wagon drop inside the maternity tower. People at the celebration were decked out in party hats, and the party included glitter, watching the ball drop, and fun with family and familiar faces.
As the evening rolled in, Tappers Arcade Bar hosted a packed New Year’s Eve party. Pinheads Alley’s Alehouse in Fishers also had a family-friendly celebration.
