(KRON) -- One person was arrested after a victim was nearly beaten to death with a metal pole at a San Jose homeless encampment, police said. The attempted murder happened two days after Christmas at an encampment near the Highway 101 offramp at Tully Road, the San Jose Police Department said. Jo nathan Nunez, 30, attacked another man with a metal pole and struck him in the head, police said. "Officers located the victim with life threatening injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital and later stabilized," SJPD spokesperson Tanya Hernandez wrote. New law lets Californians order data brokers to delete personal information At the time of the attack, Nunez was already wanted by police because of an incident on Christmas Eve. Nunez allegedly entered a place of worship on East Santa Clara Street during a Christmas Eve service and punched a glass window. The damage was estimated to be over $20,000, Hernandez wrote.
