Dog that ran away after being kicked by SF elder abuse suspect found safe

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A dog that police say was kicked and ran away during the assault of an elderly person has been found safe. The incident occurred on Sunday at around 3:32 p.m. in the area of Post and Leavenworth streets.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the suspect in the as
sault kicked the victim's dog and the dog ran away. The victim, a 65-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The victim's dog ran away from the scene and was last seen walking south on Leavenworth Street. The dog, which was named Charlotte Rose, was found, police announced on Thursday.
Photos sent out by SFPD appeared to show Charlotte Rose in good condition and riding in the back of a police vehicle.
