StormTracker8: Snow Friday, minimal accumulations
Dec 11, 2025
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Clear skies this evening we'll give way to clouds overnight with the risk of some light snow and snow showers developing by the morning rush hour on Friday. Our overnight lows will fall into the middle 20s.
During the day Friday an Alberta Clipper system, which is a fast-
moving weather system, will slide through Central Virginia providing light snow and snow showers throughout the day. Even though we will see snow throughout the day this is going to be a system that is very limited in moisture so most of us might only see a dusting to an inch of snow. Our high temperatures will climb into the mid-30s.
Saturday will feature partly sunny skies, and it will be a touch cool for this time of year with highs in the middle 40s.
Another fast-moving system will move in on Sunday, and we will see some light snow and snow showers early in the morning probably before you get your day going and those snow showers could end by noon on Sunday. Again, with this system the moisture is extremely limited so accumulations might only be a dusting at best. However, behind the system we will get a good push of arctic air which will slide into Central Virginia for the second half of Sunday, Sunday night and Monday.
In fact, we will have clear skies for Sunday night with lows in the middle teens and Monday we might only recover to a high of 32 under sunny skies.
Tuesday will be chilly but a little bit better than Monday with highs around 40.
Partly sunny skies will be with us for Wednesday with highs near 50 which is normal for this time of year.
Looking ahead to the end of next week, a weather system will approach Thursday and Friday providing more clouds and the risk of some rain showers. Our high temperatures will climb into the middle to upper 50s.
