Purdue breaks ground on Academic Success Building in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Purdue University took a step towards adding a new mark on the Indianapolis skyline. A ground breaking ceremony was held to celebrate construction beginning for the Academic Success Building.
Purdue President Mung Chiang, Gov. Mike Braun, and state and city leaders gat
hered to speak at the event hosted by the Indiana Historical Society.
Construction is expected to begin on the corner of Michigan and West streets later this month. The building should be finished by May 2027.
The Academic Success Building will be a mixed-use academic and residential site with 15 floors and 248,000 square feet. The new facility “will be a cutting-edge hub for students to gain hands-on training, connect with corporate partners and engage with the surrounding Indianapolis community,” Purdue said in the announcement.
Purdue said the Academic Success Building will also be available for local high schools and the community’s use.
