WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — As the weather warms and spring takes hold, the Great Plains Nature Center is calling on the community to roll up their sleeves and join in on one of its most beloved annual events: the Spring Work Day in the Park.
Set for Saturday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at 6232 E
. 29th St. North in Wichita, the event offers a morning of hands-on volunteer work in the scenic Chisholm Creek Park, followed by a free lunch on the lawn.

The event encourages all ages to participate in park projects like trash pickup, leaf clearing, and garden cleanup. In case of bad weather, volunteers will work indoors at the Nature Center’s visitor center.
Volunteer registration is required by Friday, April 11. Those interested can sign up by contacting Darah Jewell at volunteer@gpnc.org.
