NEWTON, Kan. (KSNW) - A Wichita man who had been released from jail was arrested just hours later in connection with a robbery. According to the Newton Police Department, officers were dispatched to Walgreens around 11:15 a.m. for the report of an armed robbery. According to the report, the suspe ct indicated that he had a firearm, obtained cash from the store, and fled south. Police then located a man "acting suspiciously" a few blocks away. They also found clothing and other evidence from the robbery in a nearby alley. The man, who had been released from the Harvey County Detention Center earlier that day, was booked back into the facility.
