March 31, 2025 morning update from Tara Hastings
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Cooler and breezy for the start of the work week. More thunderstorms will be possible on Wednesday.
TODAY: A few early morning light showers are possible this morning around the Indy metro area. Look for mainly cloudy
conditions for much of the afternoon. It is going to be a breezy and much cooler day today with winds gusting at times near 20 and 25 mph. Temperatures will stay fairly steady into the mid 40s all afternoon long.
TONIGHT: Clouds begin to gradually clear overnight tonight and it turns chilly. Low temperatures will fall right around freezing in Indianapolis. Farther northward temperatures will drop into the twenties. It will still be a bit breezy with winds out of the north that may gust near 20 mph.
TOMORROW: Absolutely gorgeous for your Tuesday. Look for lots of sunshine. It’s going to be nice and seasonable. High temperatures will climb into the mid ’50s which is right around normal for this time of the year. The winds will be relatively light out of the east.
If you are heading to the Indianapolis Indians home opener versus the Iowa Cubs, great weather conditions are expected. First pitch will be at 6:35 p.m. and it will be dry with a few more clouds. Rain chances will develop but not until overnight Tuesday.
We’re keeping a close eye on a storm system that will move through on Wednesday. Winds may gust upwards of 30 miles per hour. A cold front will move through and bring a good chance for some showers and thunderstorms. And some of those thunderstorms could be on the stronger side. Much like Sunday afternoon and evening we are under an enhanced risk across the entire state of Indiana. This means that there is a strong possibility for severe weather across parts of the state. Temperatures on Wednesday will climb into the ’70s.
7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: Unsettled weather continues for the end of the work week with showers and storms possible Thursday and Friday. Temperatures drop back into the ’60s. Over the weekend we will see rain likely on Saturday but drying out on Sunday. Temperatures drop back into the ’50s.
