Tonight, were expecting a mix of rain and snow. As the evening progresses, the rain will turn to snow over the eastern plains, with some areas seeing up to 4 inches of snow. The higher mountains and foothills will get more snow, around 3 to 6 inches. The snow will move eastward and wrap up by midnight, but fog will develop along the Front Range and stick around into Sunday morning.Sunday will be cooler, with temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s across northeast Colorado. Some light rain and snow showers are expected, especially over the higher elevations, but not much accumulation is expected. A weak system will bring a little more moisture through the area, though nothing too heavy. Looking at the week ahead, Monday will bring a brief break with warmer temperatures, reaching the low 60s on the plains. Expect some light showers to pop up over the higher terrain later in the afternoon. On Tuesday, a stronger weather system will arrive, bringing snow to the mountains and possibly even the plains, especially in areas like the Denver metro and Palmer Divide. The snow should stay light, with little to no accumulation on the plains. Throughout Wednesday and Thursday, the mountains will continue to see light snow, but it wont be anything major. The plains might get a few light showers, but they wont have much of an impact.Next weekend could bring a more significant snowstorm, though theres a lot of uncertainty about where exactly it will hit. If the storm tracks through Colorado, we could see a good amount of snow, especially across the plains.
