NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Rain is beginning to spread in to the area Friday night and that batch should work east across the area through early Saturday. Some embedded pockets of heavier rain will be possible but most of it will be on the lighter side.
After that, it looks like we have a break in t
he rainfall for a few hours through most of the morning.
By afternoon showers and storms begin to redevelop across the area, although not necessarily for everybody. These could produce locally strong wind gusts, and locally heavy downpours.
Rain tapers off late Saturday afternoon into the evening as we dry out for Saturday night. Expect a warm day with low 80s on Sunday with isolated showers and storms by the afternoon again. It looks like the next front moves in early Monday morning.
We do have a low end severe weather threat with that system, although most of the activity probably stays northeast of our area. Still though, be aware of potential storms with severe weather early Monday.
