While there's a lull in rainfall through early morning, you need to know, there's more rain coming. Periods of rain and storms are in the forecast off-and-on through the weekend. At our coolest point in the early AM, we're not very cool for a late March morning. Lows will only be in the mid-to-up per 50s, which is slightly above our current average high temperature for this time of the year. Morning low temps only drop as low as the mid-to-upper 50s as Saturday gets going. The sky becomes partly cloudy for the morning and the warm air keeps flowing in from the southwest. The highest gusts subside, but we stay breezy with SW winds between 10 and 20 mph expected. With morning temperatures starting off in the 50s, this sets the stage for more warmth on Saturday, with additional periods of rain and t-storms possible throughout the day. Afternoon highs will be just above the 70° mark. The day's chances of rain exist from morning till night. However, there will be many dry times. For much of the day, the rain will be scattered. The highest, and most widespread, rain/storm chances come by late evening into the night. No severe weather is expected Saturday night, but Sunday night is a different story. Sunday is another warm day, with highs in the 70s, that carries a rain and storm chance. A powerful cold front will be moving through the area and some strong, gusty t-storms are possible. The strongest storm chances come after 6 at night and continue into early Monday morning as the cold front marches through. A significant chance of severe storms that produce high winds, heavy rain, hail, and even tornadoes exists from the Sunday night through early Monday timeframe. Rainfall totals from now through Monday evening may end up highest south of Fort Wayne with some spots picking up another 1"+ of rainfall. Behind the front comes a blast of much colder air, so you'll have to drag the thicker coat back out Monday and Tuesday, with high temperatures only near 50° both days.
