PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Two people were brought to the hospital after a fire broke out at a multi-family home in Pawtucket Thursday night.
Crews were at another fire less than a mile away when they were called to Sabin Street around 9:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, Battalion Chief Dave Cairrao said
heavy fire was coming from one room on the third floor.

All the occupants made it out on their own, but one person was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and another to Hasbro Children's Hospital. Both had smoke inhalation, Cairrao said.
Due to the smoke and water damage, at least two families have been displaced.
The fire extended to the third floor of the neighboring home, but since it was going under renovations, it was unoccupied. The residents on the first and second floors of that building were not impacted.
No word on what caused the fire.
