ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Thousands of Allen and Wells County residents were without power early Friday morning, according to Indiana Michigan Power. The outages came after a fire broke out at Yoder Grain, located at 3226 Yoder Road. Smoke rises from the smoldering remains of a fire at Yoder Gr ain on Friday, Marchy 28, 2025 The fire started around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night. Several fire crews responded to the scene. The Ossian Fire Department posted to its Facebook page asking residents to stay away from the area. It's not yet known how the fire started and it has mostly been put out. Surrounding buildings did not suffer any major damage according to the owner. An fire investigation team will survey the scene starting at 9 a.m. As of 5:30 a.m., only seven customers remained without power according to the I&M outage map.
