Citations were pending for the driver of a car that caused a chain-reaction three-vehicle crash late Thursday that sent three people to hospitals on the South Side.Around 11:10 p.m. in the 100 block of West 51st Street, a black sedan ran a red light and plowed into a black Jeep turning at the inters ection, Chicago police said. The black Jeep then crashed into a different black sedan that was going west. The driver black car that disregarded the light, a 32-year-old man, suffered trauma to his body and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was in fair condition, police said. A 29-year-old pregnant passenger in the Jeep was taken to the same hospital in fair condition, authorities said. The 37-year-old driver of the black sedan struck by the Jeep was also taken to the University of Chicago where he was treated for cuts, officials said.
