CSP: Driver fatally struck while running away from crash on I25 near Fort Collins

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. A driver was fatally struck while they were running away from a crash on Interstate 25 near Fort Collins Thursday evening. The Colorado State Patrol said it was called out to a report of a two-vehicle cras
h on northbound I-25 at the Harmony Exit in Larimer County around 5:17 p.m.Before troopers arrived, one of the drivers involved in the crash ran off. That person was struck by another vehicle while crossing the southbound lanes, according to CSP. The person who was struck was taken to a hospital, where they later died. The Larimer County Coroner's Office will release their identity at a later time. No other injuries were reported. CSP said all involved parties remained at the scene and are cooperating with investigators. Northbound I-25 was closed for the investigation and reopened at 7:15 p.m.Southbound I-25 is closed between Harmony Road and CO 392 (Fort Collins) at mile point 265.
