(KRON) -- Seventy-seven drivers were cited at two intersections in Atherton and Redwood City while schools were in session on Wednesday. Police officers from the Redwood City Police Department and Atherton Police Department teamed up for the Pedestrian Safety Operation. The operation was conducted where El Camino Real intersects Finger Street in Redwood City, and where El Camino Real intersects Selby Lane in Atherton. RCPD said the operation's goal was to reduce pedestrian-related accidents "by ensuring that drivers obey traffic laws."
