BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Want a wrap filled with tri-tip and curly fries plus a healthy slug of barbecue sauce for breakfast? Hoagies has got you covered.
Have a craving for fish and chips for the first meal of the day? Or a bacon cheeseburger? They can handle that too, the restaurant's "All
Day Menu" being offered, well, all day.
Hoagies, which continues to draw crowds in Pismo Beach after more than two decades, recently opened a new location in Bakersfield in the building that formerly housed 2nd Phase Brewing at 19th and O streets.
The wraps appear to be the main draw.

"The Nicco" is packed with tri-tip sauteed in salsa, a squirt of sour cream, cilantro, a heap of curly fries, onions and avocado. The "Dirty Bird" has fried chicken, the ubiquitous curly fries, pepper jack cheese and barbecue sauce. Other wraps have ahi tuna, hamburger beef patties, fried fish or grilled chicken. There are 11 options in all.

There are at least as many sandwiches. The selection includes a cheesesteak, pulled pork sandwich, the "Big Italian" with cold cuts, pickles, olives and balsamic vinaigrette on a French roll and hot pastrami on grilled sourdough.
There's a breakfast menu available from 8 to 11 a.m. -- thick burritos with eggs, meat and tater tots, chicken and waffles, a breakfast sandwich. I'm sure they're fine, but give me a burger at 8 a.m. and I'm ready to face the day.
Also, try the clam chowder. It's filled with chunks of clam, not the minced bits some places serve. ...read more read less
