(NEXSTAR) – Bruce Glover, a character actor known for his work in the 007 film “Diamonds Are Forever” and Roman Polanski’s “Chinatown,” has died at 92.
News of Glover’s death was publicly announced over the weekend by his son Crispin Glover, of such films as “Back to the Future”
and “Wild at Heart.”
Crispin Glover indicated on Instagram that his father passed on March 12. He did not provide a cause of death. A representative for Crispin Glover later confirmed that Bruce Glover had died of natural causes, USA Today and Entertainment Weekly reported.

Glover began his career in theater before breaking into television and film, the Los Angeles Times reported. His early credits include appearances in “Car 54, Where Are You?”, “Perry Mason,” “My Favorite Martian,” “Adam-12,” “Bonanza” and the original “Mission: Impossible” television series, among dozens of other roles in movies and TV, per IMDb.

Perhaps his most well-known role was that of Mr. Wint, one half of a villainous duo (his counterpart being Mr. Kidd, played by jazz musician Putter Smith) in 1971’s “Diamonds Are Forever,” which also marked Sean Connery’s last role in an Eon-produced James Bond film.

In a 2015 interview with the “James Bond Radio” podcast, Glover said he was grateful to have worked with Connery and Putter, as well as director Guy Hamilton.
“It was a special experience,” Glover said. “It’s not a perfect movie, but it’s a damn fine one.”
