Man charged after Soulsville shooting over dice game dispute leaves 2 dead

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man was arrested in connection to a Soulsville shooting that left two people dead and two others injured in January.
Police say the deadly shooting stemmed from an altercation during a dice game.

Reports say on January 29, at around 3:30 p.m., the Memphis Police Department responded to a shooting in the 900 block of College Park Drive. When they arrived in the area, officers saw Lorenzo Brown suffering from a gunshot wound near the intersection of College Park Drive and Walker Avenue.
Two shooting victims were then found lying outside a house on College Park Drive, and inside the home, three more victims were found in the kitchen area suffering from gunshot wounds.
Two of the victims died from their injuries. Police identified them as Leon Parker, 30, and Marcus Epps, 27.

According to an affidavit, the four men and one woman were playing a dice game in the kitchen when there was an exchange of gunfire. One of the victims told police that Epps and Parker had been shooting dice when the shots rang out.
The victim identified Brown as one of the shooters and said that after she had been shot, Brown shot her in the leg while she was crawling on the floor due to her injuries.
Brown is being held on a $100,000 bond. Records show that he was convicted of Criminal Attempt Voluntary Manslaughter in 2015. ...read more read less
