COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Strong thunderstorms knocked out power to more than 21,000 AEP customers in three central Ohio counties Sunday night.
As of 11:30 p.m., a total of 14,891 Franklin County customers, 4,416 Licking County, and 2,414 Delaware County customers were without power. In total, 24,
741 customers across Ohio were without power.
AEP estimates power to one of the hardest hit areas of Franklin County -- on the west/southwest side of the county -- will be restored by 2:30 a.m. Monday. The other part of the county with the most outages -- in the New Albany area -- is still waiting for the cause of the outages to be assessed before power can be restored.
