IMPD: Motorcycle rider dies in crash on Raymond Street

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A fatal crash happened Wednesday night on the city’s east side, Indianapolis police say.

r ADM’s Beech Grove grain-milling facility.
IMPD says the victim was driving a motorcycle westbound on Raymond Street and hit an SUV.
The collision caused the motorcycle and SUV to slide westbound on East Raymond Street.
“The victim struck a guardrail, coming to a stop, as the motorcycle continued westbound and finally coming to a stop. The motorcycle then caught on fire,” IMPD said in a release Thursday.
The driver of the SUV and several witnesses stayed at the scene and gave information to police.
The SUV driver was taken to a hospital and submitted to a blood draw, which is standard police policy after a fatal accident.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office will provide the name of the deceased after family members have been notified.
