BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Former IU guard Gabe Cupps is headed to Ohio State.
Cupps posted to X (formerly Twitter) “Let’s work.”
Cupps is heading back to his home state. He is from Dayton, Ohio and went to Centerville High School.
He played just four games last season due to a
surgery “to treat a preexisting, nagging injury to his lower body,” according to a release from the IU men’s basketball program back in December.
In his freshman season at IU, Cupps started 22 games and averaged 4.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.
Cupps is the first player from IU’s 2024-25 that entered the transfer portal to commit to a new team. He entered the transfer portal on March 18.
Mackenzie Mgbako, Malik Reneau, Myles Rice, Kanaan Carlyle, and Jakai Newton are all still in the portal.
