NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — The 11th annual Live First Community Giving Campaign is beginning soon through First International Bank & Trust. Charitable and community organizations — including non-profits, community groups, and classroom initiatives — are able to apply for awards that total up to $63,000. The Grand Prize is a grant of $20,000. Up to six grant winners will be chosen for the Rising Star, they will get $3,000 each. This grant is to support a new non-profit or new initiatives from existing non-profits that need a kick start. Learning about the state’s history at the ND Heritage Center There are also 11 category winners, who will receive $2,000; the categories include: Critter Crusaders (help animals) Allies of the Arts and Culture (focus on the arts) Wellness Warriors (promote health and wellness) Hearts and Minds (focus on education) Hope in Housing (help and support with housing) Feeding the Community (food-based services) Accessibility Champion (advocate for those with different abilities) Support & Security (support at-risk individuals) Family-Friendly (support families) Nature League (support parks and natural spaces) Safety Society (respond to emergencies and keep communities safe) Finally, three grants of $1,000 each will be awarded based on who gets the most likes on each organization's original photo on the FIBT Facebook page.
