Purdue’s Braden Smith makes Midwest Region AllTournament Team

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Purdue guard Braden Smith earned another honor for his record-breaking season.
Smith was named to the All-Region team for the Midwest Regional. He had 15 assists to go along with seven points against Houston in the Sweet 16.

Purdue guard Braden Smith
Smith is the only player to have multiple games in the NCAA Tournament with 15 or more assists in the history of the NCAA Tournament since assists became an official stat in 1984. He had 15 assists in Purdue’s win against Gonzaga in the Sweet 16 in 2024.
He finished the season with 313 assists, becoming the first Big Ten player to ever have more than 300 assists in a season.
Smith also became Purdue’s all-time assist leader, breaking Bruce Parkinson’s record against UCLA in February. He finished the season with 758 assists in his career.
