SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - Some major upgrades are coming to Buttery Brook Park, with officials set to break ground on a series of improvements aimed at enhancing accessibility and recreation opportunities.
UMass Spring Arts Festival showcases over 75 events through May 9
The groundb
reaking ceremony will take place on April 8 at 4:00 p.m. at the park, located at 123 Willimansett St.
The upgrades, made possible by a matching Parkland Acquisitions and Renovations for Communities (PARC) grant, will introduce several new amenities designed to make the park more inclusive and engaging for residents of all ages.
Planned improvements include:
Four new pickleball courts
ADA-accessible playground features
A new band shell for performances and events
A nine-hole disc golf course
A half-mile walking loop
Planting of 200 new trees
Town officials and community leaders will be in attendance for the ceremony, which will mark the beginning of construction on these enhancements.
Residents are encouraged to attend the groundbreaking event to learn more about the project and celebrate the park’s future upgrades. The renovations are expected to be completed in phases over the coming months.
