WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) -- A man was killed late Friday afternoon when a tree he was trying to cut down fell on top of him. According to Deputy Assistant Chief Eric Norberg of the West Warwick Fire Department, crews were called to Clyde Street around 4:15 p.m. for a man trapped under a tree. When they arrived, fire crews said they were able to get the tree off of the victim. The man had several traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The name and age of the victim is not being released at this time. No one else was injured during the incident. The incident is still under investigation by the West Warwick Police Department and the Office of the State Medical Examiner.
