The Tiger Trails & Den Academy will give guests the opportunity to learn about animal care, nutrition and conserv
ation, according to a press release from the Topeka Zoo on March 25. Guests attending this academy will get a face-to-face experience with Sumatran tigers and king vultures. The zoo said it hopes to inspire visitors to explore their own potential for scientific discovery.
"Our dedicated animal care team is widely recognized for their expertise and skill in breeding the critically endangered Sumatran tiger," said Christina Castellano, CEO of the Topeka Zoo "Their tireless efforts in caring for these majestic animals are key to the success of this program. We are excited to provide visitors with the chance to learn from their experience and passion."
The zoo will be holding a public fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $1 million for the $7 million project to complete the funding for it.
