SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) -- UPDATE: Savannah Fire successfully capped the leak. Traffic has resumed. The residents that were evacuated are able to return. Savannah Fire is currently on scene for mutual aid at the request of the Isle of Hope Fire Department. 500 block of Herb River Drive where th ere is a small leak near the valve of a 150 gallon chlorine tank. We are working under a Unified Command with the assistance of City workers. Four homes have been evacuated to establish a safe perimeter. There is no concern of the chlorine leaving the established hot zone and island residents are safe. The Dutch Island Homeowners' Association urges residents to stay inside for one hour due to a reported chlorine leak in the well at Buccaneer Bend and Cove View (and possibly near 507 Herb River Dr.).
