Free drivethru pet wellness clinic happening Sunday
Mar 25, 2025
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - El Paso Animal Services will kick off its first free drive-thru pet wellness clinic of the year this weekend.
The event, which is in collaboration with the El Paso County Animal Welfare Department and sponsor Petco Love, will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. on Sunday, March
30, at 3600 Bonanza St.
The event coincides with National Pet Vaccination Month, which raises awareness about vaccines' vital role in protecting pets from deadly yet preventable diseases such as parvovirus, distemper, and panleukopenia, the City of El Paso said.
The City said core vaccinations not only safeguard individual pets but also help prevent the spread of illness within the community.
This free event will provide essential vaccines and microchips to the first 500 pets on a first-come, first-served basis, the City said.
Dogs will receive the parvo/distemper (DAPP) vaccine, while cats will receive the feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia (FVRCP) vaccine. All pets will also be microchipped, the City added.
"To ensure a smooth and safe process, attendees must keep their pets inside their vehicles at all times, with dogs securely leashed and cats placed in carriers. Pets must be at least six weeks old to receive vaccines, and no other vaccinations will be available at this event," read the news release by the City.
