LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — A man from Lowell, Mass. was arrested Sunday after he allegedly pulled a winning voucher and cash from an elderly woman’s hand at Bally’s Casino that same morning.
Christopher Pagan, 31, is charged with first-degree robbery after being arrested by Lincoln police shortly
after the incident occurred.
The incident occurred at approximately 6 a.m. when Lincoln Police responded to the casino for reports of a possible robbery of an elderly female.
Arriving officers met with Bally’s security who gave them the suspect’s description and an account of the robbery.
The suspect was observed to stand behind the victim for several minutes before forcefully pulling away her winning voucher and cash, according to Lincoln police.
He then fled from the casino in the direction of adjacent neighborhoods.
Pagan was tracked down and taken into custody within minutes and was transported to Bally’s.
A security officer who had watched the surveillance footage of the robbery positively identified Pagan as the suspect.
The charge of first-degree robbery was given to Pagan due to the victim’s age.
