CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Looking to celebrate Earth Day in nature? Pocahontas State Park will host a volunteering event where attendees can mulch flower beds and plant wildflower seeds. The volunteering event will be hosted from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 at the CC Field in P ocahontas State Park, located at 10301 State Park Rd. in Chesterfield County. According to the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, volunteers will help to mulch flower beds and plant wildflower seeds to support native pollinators. Attendees are asked to wear clothing fit for the activity and to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Tools and gloves will be provided. Reservations are required.
