NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A dispute Friday over a car sale led to kidnapping charges against a man and woman.
Officers with the North Charleston Police Department were called to the Department of Motor Vehicles on Leeds Avenue for a disturbance. The two suspects were found in the parking
lot.
An investigation found that the suspect had gone to the victim’s home to confront him over their dissatisfaction with a recent car sale, according to NCPD.
During the confrontation, police say the male suspect handcuffed the victim to a car in his yard, and the female pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to use it if he did not rectify the situation.
The pair then followed the suspect to the DMV to correct the paperwork. Once inside, police say the victim became overwhelmed and police were called for help.
Police detained the suspects at the scene and found several guns in their possession.
