CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A new development in the case of a missing autistic Cranston woman. 45-year-old Linda Delomba had been missing since March 19 when Cranston police said the case was now a criminal investigation Friday afternoon. The department said that Delomba’s caregiver claimed she was using the bathroom at the Burlington Coat Factory in the city when she disappeared. After searching through hours of surveillance footage, however, detectives said they were never at the store. Investigators added that the caregiver then offered multiple conflicting statements regrading the missing woman’s whereabouts. The department had also interviewed multiple persons-of-interest and search warrants had been executed at multiple locations, including two homes. The FBI also said Friday that it would be assisting with the case.
