CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The Gauntlet is a rite of passage for cadets at The Citadel, marking the end of their first year through this rigorous physical and mental challenge. For first-year cadets, the Gauntlet officially marks the end of their time as "knobs" and signifies a transition into lea dership roles. The Gauntlet is the first official exercise kicking off a weekend of celebration for cadets.
