Photo by Ronald Cortes/Getty Images The night ended on Manu but started on Harrison Barnes On Wednesday, Harrison Barnes received the NBA Cares Bob Lanier Community Assist Award winner for the month of February. Spurs legend David Robinson presented him the award at the home game against the New York Knicks at Frost Bank Center. The award, named in honor of Bob Lanier, is given monthly during the regular season and recognizes one player who best demonstrates the passion that the league and NBA players share for giving back to their communities. Lanier played fourteen season in the NBA. From 1970-1984 he spent his first ten years with the Detroit Pistons and his last four with the Milwaukee Bucks. Lanier was himself co-recipient of the 2009 The Mannie Jackson – Basketball’s Human Spirit Award, given by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in recognition of his continued commitment to community service.
