BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The National Weather Service reports a red flag warning is in effect from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. in multiple Louisiana parishes Thursday. NWS defines a red flag warning as an increased fire danger risk due to "warm temperatures, very low humidities, and stron ger winds." People should not burn anything outdoors during the warning. According to NWS, winds could be 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity could be as low as 20 percent. Baton Rouge area parishes under this warning include: Ascension (Eastern and Western) Assumption East Baton Rouge East Feliciana Iberville Livingston (Southern and Northern) Pointe Coupee St. Helena West Baton Rouge West Feliciana This warning also affects these Mississippi counties: Amite, Wilkinson, Walthall, Pike, Pearl River, Harrison, Hancock, and Jackson.
