HHS to hold public meeting to discuss improvements for people with disabilities
Mar 19, 2025
BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) is inviting residents to a meeting where they will talk about their efforts to assist those living with physical disabilities.
The meeting, which will be Thursday, March 20 from 1-3 p.m. CT, will give residents a chance to find
out about in-home help and other resources that the HHS has been working on.
In an effort to ensure the state meets the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, North Dakota entered into an eight-year settlement agreement with the Department of Justice (DOJ) in 2020. The meeting will provide updates on how the state is doing midway through the 8-year period.
HHS will talk about key performance indicators from year four, the implementation plan for year five, and quality service provider training. They will also provide updates on housing memorandums of understandings, the Home Modification Capital Fund, and recent legislation.
