PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A popular Swedish cafe in the capital city has closed its doors for good.
In a social media post earlier this week, the owners of Cafe Choklad announced their plans to embark on their "well-earned" retirement.
"This decision was not made lightly, as this cafe has be
en more than just a business — it has been a place where friendships were formed, memories were made, and countless meals were shared," owners Jens and Marie Retlev wrote.

The Retlev's thanked their customers for their "unwavering support and loyalty over the years."
"Your patronage and kindness have meant the world to us, and we are incredibly thankful for the connections we’ve built with each and every one of you," the Retlevs continued. "Thank you for being part of our journey. We will cherish these memories forever."
The Retlevs did not elaborate on what's next for the space.
