The Park City Police Department received a recent complaint about vehicles reportedly competing against each other.The agency received the report on Monday, March 10, at 1 p.m. Two vehicles — one a white car and the other a black car that was described as smaller — were “racing” in the Eques
trian Way neighborhood, the police were told.The vehicles did not stop at a stop sign, the police were told. The person indicated to the police it was the second such episode and occurred at 11 a.m.Equestrian way is a small street in Park Meadows that intersects with Lucky John Drive.The police only occasionally receive complaints about racing vehicles even as reports of speeding are commonplace.Other incidents reported recently to the Police Department include:On Sunday, March 16, at 11:33 p.m., two people were seen asleep in a vehicle on Sullivan Road, a small street that borders City Park, at 11:33 p.m. The officer contacted the people. Just earlier, at 11:21 p.m., two people, described as camping, were seen in a vehicle outside nearby Miners Hospital. It was not clear from the logs whether the two cases involved the same people.A person was reported to be “throwing trash all over” a parking lot on Park Avenue at 6:36 p.m. The person was seen leaving in a vehicle outbound on S.R. 224.Someone at 4:35 p.m. filed a report with the police regarding a snowball thrown at a vehicle on Deer Valley Drive. The person told the police the snowball broke the windshield. The Police Department classified the case as suspected criminal mischief.On Saturday, March 15, at 5:21 p.m., a hit-and-run traffic accident was reported on Deer Valley Drive. One of the vehicles involved was an Audi. The police were told the damage occurred sometime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.A slide-off accident was reported at 9:44 a.m. on Richardson Flat Road. The police were told the vehicle may have been a SUV.On Friday, March 14, at 11:38 p.m., the police received information about a driver hitting a tree along Snow Creek Drive. The agency logged the report as a suspected drunken driving case.A slide-off accident was reported at 4:54 p.m. on Marsac Avenue, apparently in the area of a runaway-truck lane just south of Old Town.The Police Department received a complaint from a business on Iron Horse Drive after a woman reportedly refused to leave. The person was “yelling at the cashier manager for not accepting a return,” according to public police logs. The agency classified the case as suspected disorderly conduct.Graffiti was reported on a Main Street building at 10:36 a.m. Public police logs did not provide details about the contents of the tagging.On Thursday, March 13, at 6:56 p.m., a hit-and-run accident was reported on Guardsman Connection Road. Public police logs did not provide details.A Park City police officer at 3:40 p.m. pulled over a driver on S.R. 224 outside the municipal boundaries after observing a vehicle headed in the wrong direction on the state highway. The police indicated the driver mistook a “turn lane for the oncoming traffic lane” south of Kimball Junction. The police said there were no signs the driver was impaired and the driver received a warning.Water was reported to be “gushing out of the road” on American Saddler Drive at 10:41 a.m. The police indicated there was a utility issue at the location.The police at 7:33 a.m. received a report of an elk herd with perhaps 100 animals was attempting to cross a road, apparently Kearns Boulevard, as the herd moved toward Round Valley.Debris was reported to be “all over” Deer Valley Drive in the area of the intersection of Aerie Drive at 6:54 a.m. The police were told it appeared “a construction truck lost stuff.” The department indicated the unspecified debris created a traffic hazard.On Wednesday, March 12, at 11:54 p.m., a tree was reported to be down and “across the roadway” on S.R. 224 in Empire Pass.On Tuesday, March 11, at 6:45 p.m., a fight was reported on Main Street. Public police logs did not provide details.On Monday, March 10, at 10:01 p.m., a man was reported to be “yelling profanities” at the Old Town transit center. The police logged the case as suspected intoxication.Skis were reported to have been stolen from a rack on Lowell Avenue.
