Park City remains busy, leading to noise complaints and drinking ‘on the street’

The Park City Police Department in the middle of March reported numerous cases that appeared to be related to the crowds that have arrived during what is typically a busy stretch for the ski industry.The cases did not appear to be serious and were typical for times of heavy tourism. They can help il
lustrate, though, just how busy the community has been. March is one of the key months of the ski season, as vacationers arrive for spring-break trips, and there has been heavy traffic in Park City and crowds on Main Street.The police have responded to suspected drunkenness, loud people and parties. Some of the recent cases included:On Sunday, March 16, at 11:35 p.m., a party was reported on Gilt Edge Circle. People were “coming and going” and “being loud,” the police were told. The person who contacted the police indicated “weed and alcohol are a factor,” according to public police logs. The person also told the police they asked the people to quiet down, which was unsuccessful. The police logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace.
On March 16 at 11:20 p.m., an officer observed someone drinking alcohol “on the street” on Main Street. The officer warned the person verbally.
On Saturday, March 15, at 11:42 p.m., people in a hot tub in Iron Canyon Drive were reported to be “making noise” and “playing music.” The police logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace.
On March 15 at 8:20 p.m., the Police Department received a report from someone on Daly Avenue indicating there was a car in a driveway “blasting the music.” The police were told the people inside the vehicle were “not listening” as the person attempted to contact them. The person apparently did not know the people in the vehicle. The police described the circumstances as suspicious.
On Friday, March 14, at 10:12 p.m., a Main Street business indicated it “kicked some guys out” and they were “now causing problems in front.” The police classified the case as suspected disorderly conduct.
On Monday, March 10, at 10:03 p.m., a party, described as loud, was reported on Lowell Avenue. The person who contacted the police indicated he was wearing noise-cancelling headphones “and can still hear them,” according to agency logs.
