Big rig drivers unharmed after 'violent impact' in Madera County

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - An early morning crash between two big rigs provoked a "violent impact" on Highway 152 that resulted in no reported injuries, the California Highway Patrol said.
Officers say they responded to a crash involving two big rigs in the area of Highway 152 and Highwa
y 99 in Madera County on early Friday morning.
Per officers, a 31-year-old man was driving a red 2019 Kenworth westbound Highway 152. The 31-year-old did not notice the 2020 Volvo with a box trailer slowing down ahead of him, and the Kenworth ended up colliding with the Volvo's trailer.
According to CHP, the "violent impact" caused the cab to be separated from the chassis.
CHP also reports the drivers did not sustain injuries because they were wearing seatbelts, and reminded the public of the importance of avoiding distractions while driving. ...read more read less
