GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The night before the first pick is called at the NFL Draft, Schreiber Foods’ Green Bay headquarters will transform into an authentic Wisconsin supper club for the league’s inaugural Taste of the Draft event.
“This space will be completely transformed into that authe
ntic Wisconsin supper club experience,” said Michael Vinson, vice president of corporate affairs at Schreiber Foods.

Set for April 23, the event is a collaboration between the Packers, GENYOUth, and Schreiber Foods, celebrating Wisconsin’s culinary traditions while tackling food insecurity in 90 state schools.
“This partnership with GENYOUth was something that we couldn’t pass up,” Vinson said. “The commitment that they have to providing access to children for nutritious food aligns perfectly with who we are as an organization in our mission.”
The concept builds on the long-standing Taste of the Super Bowl, which has supported hunger relief efforts for more than three decades. The last five years have specifically benefitted GENYOUth, a nonprofit that provides nutritious meals in schools.
“You bring that food cart out in the hallway, any child can go through it,” said GENYOUth consultant Maureen Bausch. “If your child doesn’t like to eat breakfast early in the morning, your child can go through it and take their breakfast to class, and they all get a nutritious breakfast.”
The Taste of the Draft marks the first draft-based fundraiser of its kind, and thanks to donor support, all funds raised will go directly to school meal programs.
“We do have some wonderful partners and wonderful family foundations that have helped us so that 100% of the ticket price goes toward school grants,” Bausch said.
For the Packers, the event is an opportunity to highlight Wisconsin’s unique culture while benefiting local students.
“Not only is all of the proceeds from the event going to be put back into Wisconsin schools, but it also gives Wisconsin the opportunity to showcase its culinary and local businesses, all the fun things Wisconsin as a state has to offer,” said Lexi Potts, Packers events, service, and sales coordinator.

Supper clubs from across the state have contributed to the event’s menu, ensuring an authentic taste of Wisconsin.
“People that are attending the event can anticipate all things Wisconsin supper clubs—old fashioneds, ice cream drinks, Wisconsin recipes you would see at supper clubs,” Potts said. “We’re going to have 20 different supper clubs feature recipes, we’re going to have five different breweries, over 25 Packers alumni.” ...read more read less
