Multiple departments responded to a house fire in Perry Village on Jan. 24. No injuries were reported. According to a news release on the Perry Joint Fire District Facebook page, at 5:26 p.m. on Jan. 24, the PJFD responded to the area of Main Street and Maple Street for a possible residential fire. Upon arrival at 5:32 p.m., smoke was discovered coming from the second floor and a working fire was declared. The first arriving officer alerted residents inside the house and helped them evacuate, according to the release. There was a delay with the first arriving engine due to multiple other calls going on at the same time, including four EMS calls, but mutual aid was provided by Painesville Township, Leroy Township, Fairport Harbor and Madison crews. Firefighters worked on extinguishing and containing the fire. According to the release, the fire was brought under control with no injuries to residents or firefighters. Assistance was also provided by departments from Concord Township, Painesville, Mentor-on-the-Lake, Geneva, Perry Village Police Department, Perry Village Road Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch Center.
