Two Cal Maritime students caught in crossfire of Vallejo shooting, both injured

(KRON) – Two Cal Maritime students were shot near downtown Vallejo on Tuesday night, according to Open Vallejo and the Vallejo Police Department.
At 7:31 p.m. on Tuesday, Vallejo PD responded to a gas station on the 500 block of Tennessee Street for the report of a shooting.
Per Open Vallejo’s reporting, occupants of a white Mercedes and blue Impala were shooting at each other, and the two victims were caught in the crossfire as they were pumping gas.
Eight Vallejo schools face possible closure
Responding officers located two victims, one individual was shot in the face and the other in the neck, according to Open Vallejo.
A relative of one of the victims has created a GoFundMe for the victim’s emergency surgery, medically induced coma, helicopter transportation and intensive neurology care.
Cal Maritime released a statement regarding the shooting, “Many have asked for an update on our cadet colleagues who were the victims of a shooting two nights ago. Thankfully, both are recovering from their injuries, but these are not wounds that heal overnight. One of the cadets was released from the hospital and is recovering at home with family. The other cadet remains hospitalized and is accompanied by family members. Please continue to keep them foremost in your thoughts and wish them a very speedy recovery.”
Police have not yet made any arrests in this case. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Vallejo Police Department.
