Gas leak closes portion of Bliss Road in Longmeadow

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - A portion of Bliss Road in Longmeadow is closed due to a level one gas leak.

Eversource spokesperson Priscilla Ress told 22News that before 4:00 a.m. on Friday, crews were sent to reports of a gas leak around Longmeadow Street and Bliss Street. Eversource immediately worked to seal the break and to make the area safe.
The Longmeadow Police Department states that Bliss Road is closed from Longmeadow Street to Cross Street.

Drivers are advised to use another route when traveling on Friday as crews are working on-site to fix the leak. No customers were impacted and the cause is being investigated, which is likely related to the extremely cold temperatures.
