TULARE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The Tulare Fairgrounds and Mission Oak High School in Tulare have launched a community effort to support families from Pasadena High School affected by the fire. The initiative, led by Mission Oak's Associated Student Body, aims to bring together students, staff and the Tulare community to show solidarity and compassion by helping families from Pasadena High School who have lost their homes and belongings, leaving them in need of assistance. Organizers say the Tulare Fairgrounds Building 5, located on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, will serve as a collection site from Feb. 3-6, with donation hours from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Donations will be loaded for delivery on Feb. 7 and delivered to Pasadena on Feb. 8 or Feb. 9. Items being accepted for donation include: $25 gift cards to restaurants Sports equipment such as football, soccer balls, sports attire Hygiene products, such as deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine products, and more. School clothes and shows, including new, tagged clothing and footwear appropriate for K-12 students. In addition to the donation drive, officials say Mission Oak ASB is organizing a "Pasadena Strong" t-shirt sale, with proceeds going towards purchasing additional gift cards for affected families.
