FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Over $640,000 worth of cocaine was seized during a traffic stop on the I-5 in Fresno County, the California Highway Patrol announced on Wednesday.
According to CHP, on Jan. 16 around 2:30 p.m., a K-9 sergeant conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation near northbound I-5 and Panoche Road.
While in contact, the K-9 sergeant reported several signs in the vehicle indicating the driver was engaged in criminal activity.
Officers say after being granted permission to search the vehicle, they found a gym bag in the back seat with 17 pounds of suspected cocaine worth over $640,000.
As a result, CHP says 33-year-old Alejandro Julian Bravo of Yakima, Washington, was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine for sale and transportation of cocaine across noncontiguous counties.
