LCMC Health place hospitals on lockdown after winter storm

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — LCMC Health officials announced the activation of their code grey plan at hospitals across the Greater New Orleans region.
Code Grey is called to indicate a severe weather event. The decision came as Southeast Louisiana experienced a winter snowstorm blanketing parts of the state in 5 to 10 inches.
What areas got the most snow during winter storm 2025?
LCMC officials say all clinics and urgent cares are closed on Wednesday, Jan. 22, and that elective surgeries are canceled.
While all hospital emergency rooms remain open, the following hospitals are on lockdown due to the ongoing weather:
Children’s Hospital
East Jefferson General Hospital
Lakeview Hospital
New Orleans East Hospital
Touro
Lakeside Hospital
University Medical Center
West Jefferson Medical Center
Operations have been suspended at Children's Hospital Emergency Room Metairie and at LCMC Health Emergency Care Downtown.
